Introduction & overview
The very nature of Add Sound to Your City centres around arts and culture, and therefore becoming fully engaged on regional levels is a top priority and strategic opportunity. To that end, and reflecting development and growth, it is the intention to create not only a documentary of the Add Sound to Your City project as a whole, but also individual film chronicles of each region involved with the project. Ultimately, this will create a unifying “patchwork” of communities and regions in the Netherlands. The significance of art & culture in every community will be focal.

Although music plays the overriding function in this project, there are several other cultural elements which will be considered and incorporated, providing a relatively unique opportunity to determine what makes the sound special to each location. A cultural flavour that is not only for the community, but also created by them as well. This cultural identity provides a tool that celebrates distinctiveness and engages community, local business, cultural legacy, tourism and schools. In addition, through the adaptive nature of the project, it is anticipated that several culturally related spin-offs will ensue over time, based upon, and boosting, proactive collaboration with the culture sector.
